…you’ll receive an email with my proposal in writing. When you accept the proposal and submit the retainer, you’ll receive a link to my calendar where you can schedule your best time for us to work together.

That retainer cements your dates in my calendar. When I’m designing your website, I won’t work with other clients.

You will be my only client. That’s my commitment to you. I’m asking that you commit to being readily available to me during these two weeks. Please don’t schedule this during a vacation away from home, or your work’s peak season. This is critically important.

Among the things you'll get from me are content planners and resources to prepare your content.

Prior to that, please use my blog to help you plan what you will say. For example, writing the site description that will show in search engine results is one of those many details that could be overlooked if you didn’t have a guide through the process. This post tells you what you need to know to write yours!

One of the documents you’ll receive in the beginning is a schedule of what we’ll be working on, what decisions you’ll need to make, and when you’ll need to make them. I will always let you know the deadline for returning your answer before I need to move on to the next item. Staying on schedule is critical to finish on time.

This needs to be firm because my next client may be scheduled to begin the following week. I know you get this because it will be important to you when we start your site on time.

One of my reasons for having you nail down the content before I begin the design is to keep revisions to a minimum. This is a huge factor in completing the site on time.

There will be dedicated time for revisions twice in the process. Beyond that, you’ll be able to have as many revisions as you need, as long as they fit in the scheduled design time. If we can complete the work early, we can use whatever time is available for whatever you need most: revisions or training.

Finally, if you want to make further changes or additions, we can work together again at my normal hourly rate ($65/hour, 5 hour minimum) after completing the project. You’ll schedule the time in my calendar and we’ll make a plan.

In about the middle of our design time, you’ll receive access to the draft site. The second half is when we’ll check content for accuracy and test the site.

Just before launch, we’ll have a training call to familiarize you with navigating your Squarespace account. I’ll show you where to pay for website hosting directly to Squarespace, and I will transfer ownership to you to launch the site!
